I have sonar on my pc and I have a Live! drive 2 soundcard right now. I want a card so that I can record 4 tracks live(1/4 inputs) What would be my cheapest option? Thanks!

im not sure about cheapest, but the cheapest with good quality is the Delta 44....about $229....

might as well....

fourth it (maybe)....???....

delta44 is a great card...but to tell you the truth - if I was doing it alll over again now I would look into the new Delta 1010LT - it has 8 analog ins (2 w/preamps) and 2 digital ins (and midi too I think?)....all that for somewhere around $350!!

unless you're absolutely, completely positive that you are never going to need more than 4 tracks....I thought that 4 would be enough but now I kicks myself in the a$$ daily (and wish that the 1010LT had been out when I purchased my 44)

http://www.digitalproaudio.com/

has the Delta 44 for $215 and the 1010lt for $329......of course with the 1010lt your inputs are balanced if that is an issue....it doesnt have a breakout box if that is an issue.......it has RCA connectors instead of 1/4" inputs if that is an issue...it does come with 2 preamps.......

if it was me, id get the 1010lt.....

I based my Delta 44 suggestion on "cheapest" and "1/4" inputs" ......

hey gidge....

thanks for that link!!.....$329 is killing me!! (somethings telling me to sell my delta44 and pick one of these up)...

do you have the 1010LT?? I seem to remember you (I think??) saying that you had a patch bay wired up with the card? maybe it's someone else that posts here??

if you do....how do you like it?

After shipping and paying Ebay, it'd probably just be cheaper to pick up another Delta 44 for $219 and link them instead.

I hear ya....but I could really use the 2 preamps and midi connections that come with the 1010LT (I'm slowly phasing out my need for my behringer mixer - trying to keep my signal chain as clean as possible...)
