I don't have very much money. I say I can spend $100. This is just for singing polka. Oh and I dance the polka when I sing the polka, so its got to pick me up good. Anyone have some suggustions for polka mics? And do I need a preamp for a polka mic? And where does the accordian plug into? I just want to polka!!!!!!!!!!  :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Drive to the music store and asked to try out an SM58. Get a long cable or two to make it easy to dance the ploka and sing it easily. Don' get to jumbly out der!!! A ploka preamp is not neccessary per-say, but you could get a nice pre and paint some ploka dots on it, if it makes you feel more polka. Anyone know of a polka plug-in? The accordian can share the polka pre if it's two channels.

If you take the accordion with you in the car, be very sure to hide it with a blanket before locking the car. I had a friend who didn't hide his, and when he got back to his car, the back window was completely smashed in, and suddenly there were TWO accordions in his back seat!! :D

He drove away and few miles later came across two injured bodies in the road. One was a snake, the other was an accordian player. All the bystanders were talking about how this was a great tragedy to have two grand creatures squished and mowed down like this. He understood why they mourned the accordionist, but why the snake? One local explained that the snake was more important and busier than the accordion player. The difference, he explained, was that the snake was on his way to a gig! :D

*sigh* There is nothing wrong with Polka. Who Stole the Keeshka is one of my favorites (round and firm and fully packed, it was sitting on the rack...) Any who, a Shure SM58, Audix OM1 or 2, or Sennheiser e835 should work just fine for you.

Can she dance up a hill?
No, no, no, no!
Can she dance a quatrain?
No, no, no, no!

If money permits, get a wireless system with a head mounted boom mic

Nothing wrong with polka. Punk rock is just polka but faster with distorted guitars.

You really need a mic made in Germany - preferably Bavaria - or Austria. Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, AKG... these will transmit those crazy polka vibrations best of all.

Now we are getting somewhere. Wonder what the Lennon sisters would sound like thru a AKG perception 100.....ewww got to go, I feel another polka coming on....

I don't want her you can have her she's too fat for me.

I keep my mic in my Leiderhosen while doing the polka.

Seriously, a 58 and a dbx or behri pre will work fine for what you want. Plug the mic into the xlr and the accordion to the line in and wail away. Ah one, ana two... :D
