This isnt exactly a Cakewalk question, but since you guy's are my boys:)

I need an mp3 transposed up a half-step. I believe you can do this with SoundForge. I havent figured out how to do this in SONAR.

Can anyone do this for me? Please? I will play violin on anyone's recording as a reward. Or I will NOT play on a recording!!!!!!!

If anyone can do it, please contact me by pm or dtkempers@aol.com Cheers, Dave

Dave, I sent you an email. Just import the mp3 and apply the Cakewalk pitch shifter effect.

Gotcha...

Yup I'm here Dave...
You can for sure.
1. Prepare a blank audio track.
2. Import the MP3 into it (using File-->Import Audio tab).
3. Go to console view for easy, put DSP/FX (Pitch shift) into the tracks output.
4. When the DSP/FX is chosen, it will pop up the setting tab, chose the preset, Up half step (Minor). Play to hear if it's corect.
5. File--> Export Audio save back to .mp3 file. You'll be asked to insert ID3 tag etc... do as you like.
6. Voila... it works.

The only thing you must have probably the DSP/FX DirectX Plugin. I think it's the best for my ears... Not affecting the tempo at all, nor the file size !!! Try it buddy...

You could bring it into loop construction, acidize it, and then shift the pitch up 1/2 step.
I think.
Still getting the more detalied features of Sonar down, but I'm getting there. This is my 1st true month of recording in like 2 years, so I'm learning new tricks every day. I'll have this puppy mastered soon, though.

Hey thanx, everbody. All done, although I did it a slightly different way ( the pitch shift is a bit wobbly in SONAR). Mike and Chuck, thanx for the Emails:cool:
