I just wanted to express my love for the B1. I borrowed a friends' MXL 990 and almost bought one until I read numerous posts and reviews favoring the B1. I snagged one off of Ebay for 99 and I'm completely blown away. Granted I only have experience with low-end mics, but this shatters my SM57 I had previously been using for my guitar amp, and so far I am very pleased with acoustic guitar and vocal quality. Maybe people can share their experiences with the B1 and what they've been using it for?

i've been walking around with my mp3 player listening to maxwell's silver hammer and konking random people on the head with my b1 (bang, bang). i love it! :p

I actually like the 57 better on most vocals and definately guitar cabs. Low end condenser mics just don't do it for me in most cases. Not to mention the 57 is a staple on guitar cabs, not real sure the B1 is or will ever be.

From what I remember, the B1 has a quite warm, almost rolled off quality to it. Is that an apt description? I remember it worked quite nicely on vocals and steel guitar.

i LOVE that tune! here's a cover of it for your listening (dis)pleasure. :D this is the ONE beatles song my band used to cover. a little bit of a departure from the original.

i like my B1 too. what goes in comes out. it's the SM57 of "cheap chinese condensers". definitely not my favorite on vocals, but very nice for the price on amps, acoustic guitars and drums.

cheers,
wade
