...and when I plug my mic into the RIGHT SIDE, when I play back, my vocals only come through my RIGHT SIDE of my headphones...the same is true when I plug my mic into the LEFT SIDE...

Is there something wrong with my settings?

Please help! THANKS!

Does one input have an "L" above it and one a "R" above it?

These are stereo inputs. If you're referring to the US-122 USB Interface, check the switch on the top that says "mono", meaning the same sound coming out the left and right speakers.
I am not fimiliar with this device, but my guess is to move the switch to the "on" position, so it's not putting the left input in just the left speaker.

Thanks, Drummer...

I have the manual too, but I just can't figure it out...

And yeah, it's the USB Audio Interface...

Any help is REALLY appreciated...

THANKS!!!

Yeah...no luck...

Could it be a setting with my software?

It does the same thing in BOTH Acid and Cool Edit Pro.

either you need to pan the mono track in the software, or you are recording a stereo track but only recording the left side.

in your software app, you should be able to select to record as stereo or mono.

How can I pan the mono track?

I believe I am recording a stereo track...but I don't know how to record BOTH the right and left side...

When I record, the options it gives (in COOL EDIT PRO) is Left Channel, Right Channel, or Stereo (I've tried all 3)...

use the left input and select Left Channel.

then in the software, after you record, PAN the track to center. i don't use cool edit, i use sonar with the us-428 so i can't tell you how to PAN.

now mute the left track, and record the right track. do you hear the right track in the right side or the left side?

if you hear the right channel track in the left side. either your us-122 or your headphones are busted.

was that you that IM'd me? my bad. i thought you was one of those porno girls trying to get me smacked in the back of my head by my wifey.

Yeah, that was me with the IM...no worries, bro...

I'm still tryin' to figure it out, though...

If I pick up Sonar, do you think you could help me out, man?

You need a better mic. And a better preamp, too.

That would fix your problem.

Did you know that Studio Projects makes many good, affordable large diaphragm condensers?

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with that brand. Would that be 797Audio? :D
