I have problems preventing the snare-mic...

... from picking up too much of the hi-hat.
I use SM57 and I´ve also tried these Ramsa WM-S5E clip-ons that I asked about a while back.
No matter how I try to position the mic the result is just not good at all.

Any ideas of how to get as little of the hi-hat as possible recorded with my snare-mic? Pointing the mic in a certain way? Positioning the kit in a special way? EQ?

cheers,

If you have tried every mic position to reduce leakage, Then use a Noisegate.

A bit of leakage isn't always a bad thing. It can help the kit sound more smooth and blended.

I had the same problem with a lot of stuff leaking onto my snare track when I was using a 57, not to mention that I wasn't crazy about the sound. I bought a Beta 56 and it's great. I get much less leakage by far and a better sound, IMO, than with the 57. It cost me just over $100 at GC if I remember correctly.
