I just wrote this and recorded it...and then took off the headphones and tried to mix it.......and I'm drunk.
So please tell me if the levels are all out of whack...I can't hear anything.
Any and all comments are always very appreciated...thanx.

It should play right away, but sometimes the player goes nuts, so make sure it's FLYING INTO THE STORM

Sounding pretty good to me....the guitars are layered well...nice tone man. Bass has a good punch to it. Drums are spot on as always man... ;)

Tune has a great vibe...flows along really well. The lyrics have a great feel...they move the song along very well...and the vocal delivery is great, as always. Speaking of vox, you got these put together well....they fill out just enough space, and are spot on.

Nice tune as always man...it is well done.

:( It's pretty sad that your drunk recordings kick my ass.... :(

Don't sell yourself short....Your recordings are pretty good...When I was your age, I couldn't even play a bar chord. You'll be just fine.

Why are you drunk? & I don't mean are you consuming alcohol!
If this is a drunkard's mix I'll have to fall off the wagon.
All it needs is a bit more bass definition & it's done - but then I'm a bass player.
I like the almost overlap in some of the phrasing - it gives a sense of urency. I assume the lead vocal was a result of more than one track.
The hushed vocal sections are really nice too.
Like I said, if this is a drunk mix ...

Thanx ray...I might as well repsond while I can still type...The lead voclas is just one track. But for the overlapping parts, I sang the last line, before the overlapppp, on another track, so that I can get that overlap effect. Thnax man...I hear it one time and find the drums too low...then I hear it again, and find the drums too loud...so I have no perspective at theis point...I'll have to checj it out tomorrow......sober.

Shit man, I just realised that I read this, and probably responded to it in my head...But forgot to type. Sorry, Dog. You know I always appreciate your comments and insight. I'm very happy with the drum sound I got on this one. I did things slightly differently and it worked. Now I just have to work on that bass definition.
I'm wondering if the bass is muddy, which means I should cut more low mids...Or if I should just boost some higher stuff to get the pick sound to come out more???
Or both????

Oh well, there's only one way to find out.....Put on the lab coat and turn on the microscope!!!!!

Cool tune man, i really like this. Kinda ballsy and bluesy. Reminds me a bit of Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds. Very well recorded and mixed. I also like your guitar tone on this. Its fucking Ace man! :D

I guess I can respond to this since I'm a dog too :D wooof wooooff wooooooff! Translation - I agree about the bass, I like the high end, but the low end seems to have a bit of conflict with the kick. In other words, it's hard to hear and tell if it's "muddy", I say bring it up in volume some, maybe thicken it a bit then judge it again. Otherwise everything sounds good to me. Cool song, whether this is a good thing or bad thing, I couldn't help thinking while listening to this "this sounds a lot like rami's other stuff" You sound like a laid back drunk too    Soft laid back vox are my favorite part too, cool stuff

Thanx, Other Dog. :D
Yeah, I'll have to check out the bass. I'm not sure if it's a good thing that you're thinking this sounds alot like all my other stuff. I'll have to pnder that one...........I might have to try drinking something different.

Thanx dude.

Whatever you do to the bass, try and maintain the punch it has...the middle of the bass sounds really good...I don't hear the bottom being muddy, but there could be some sounds masking each other that might benefit from some tightening. But the main meat of the bass fills a nice spot, and really fits well in the tune.

If'n that makes any sense...if not, I'll get drunk and respond later this afternoon.... :D

I also like exactly how these vocals sound...there is just enough polish on them to make em sit well within the mix.

I always mix drunk. ;)
Makes things sound better (at the time)

Good mix Rami, nothing wrong I can hear.

Thanx...Yeah, I sort of like the "sound" of the bass. But maybe it just needs something like a bit more cempression to tighten it up. I try to compress as little as possible, maybe sometimes I over-do the "don't over-compress" thing. It might just need that. It might also be the parts I'm playing. I think most of the parts fit...But when the guitars are chug-chugging, the bass isn't chug-chugging....and that might clash.

Hey there's a lot out there to drink! So much to drink, so little time :D Anyway, yeah that's probably a good thing you have your own recognizable style ;)

I don't know if you've changed it since starting this thread (you were drunk, 'member?) but it sounds good to me. I don't have a great monitoring system but everything seems well-proportioned. Well done.

Needs more cowbell.....j/k but was waiting for a crash at the end...

This is a good piece of rock and roll. The writing on this one is very cool. I like how you move quickly from section to section with (almost) no instrumental pauses. This drives the song along nicely.

Some nice feedback on the guitar - very tasty.

That intro is a very cool combination of rhythm and leads. I could enjoy that repeating as a solo - but I can hear it under the verses and popping up here and there so that's cool. It's a good hook.

The harmonies are nice as always - how many parts?

I can tell you're using the new pre on the vocals - that "trademark" silky smooth sound happening. Are you using it on anything else?

Drums are perfect on this - do you spend hours tuning the drums - how often do you change heads? That'a serious kit from what I remember. Not being a drummer all I can say it that the kit sounds fabulous.

Sounds good for first couple listens at low volume (late sleepers). I'll check this out later when I can get a few more db's happening too....

:) :D :) :D

Thanx IDO...as always, your insight is much appreciated.

Yeah, I think it's the first tune I ever write and record that didn't seem to need, and didn't really have room for a break or solo. The parts just went from one to another, and before I knew it, I had a song!!!:D

I'm using the pre for vox, bass, kik, snare and guitars. So pretty much everything except the overheads. For some things like the guitar, I'm just going through the pre, but not using the compressor on it.

As far as the drums, I haven't changed my tom or bass drum skins in about 2 years. I changed my snare skin about 2 months ago and had trouble getting as good a sound as I had on the old skin for about a month. So, I'm almost convinced that broken in skins tuned often sound better than new skins....But I'm sure just about every engineer and drummer on the planet would disagree with me.

Come to think of it, I haven't changed my bass strings since I bought the bass about 3 years ago.

My vocal harmonies are almost always never more than 3 part. I always double the parts when I have a 3 part harmony going on...so 6 tracks for that.

I now hear a few parts I know I have to change. I have to change the bass part in the chugging part...What I 'm doing doesn't fit.

Thanx alot, buddy.

again rami, i have to say how jealous i am of your drum sound and writing abilities. cool song and awesome drums as usual. i personally like the mellow-ish bass sound. on my end, i have no problem hearing seperation between the bass and kick. a punchier bass may take away from the smooth bottom end. i think the main vocals could be a little more up front too. and maybe wet em down with more reverb or delay. just my 2 cents. overall though, another fantastic job. i like it a lot. :)

Not taking anything away from rami at all but i persume that most of the mic placements were all set up allready and that all he had to do was play it and mix it. Its still fucking good and i cant get anywhere near that standard.
Is that right or did you just start from scratch and your a genious like einstein? :D
