i just recently bought a tascam m2516 for 300$ which i beleive is a deal...
but the point is now i have a 16*8*2 mixer and i want peoples opinion on how to hook it up..because now i want to mix on the mixer instead than in the box..oh yeah i have a digi 001 so 8 in 8out..
what i think its gonna end up happening is im gonna premix everything in the box then send it through the 8 outs into the mixer then mix there and add comp and eq then return it through the main outs for the master mix
am i right?

Been a while since I looked at that mixer (I had all the info on that and a bunch others back when I was in the market for one.
There's enough inputs there to run it 'split style- 1-8 set up as recording inputs, 9-16 tape' returns for mix down would be one way. Don't recall if it has 'mic/line'-'tape return' input switching on the channels(?) for dual 'in-line' routing.

no i bought it as is at a big pawn shop but everychannel has
line in
mic in
insert
tape in
tape out
and the last 8 channels have buttons that say
group 1 group 2 etc etc...
