Nice work Ed!

I don't have anything more than what Rami already said. It will be cool to hear how your recordings progress with real drums now. Too cool!

What kind of headphones...?
Haven't used them for drums but I like the More Me headphones that Harvey G sells for tracking. They have pretty good isolation.

Harvey's are good for tracking - and they do work oK for drums. I usually use Sienheiser 280's for drum tracking, they are pretty isolated.

Thanks for the listen Gunnar.....and the headphone tips.

Thanks Tim....I've seen the More Me's, and have thought of them. Where did you get yours? I remember a thread about them a little while back.

Cool...I just did also. The headphones I have right now aren't all solid on teh back...they have some mesh. That's probably the problem. :D

The MoreMe's will be WAY better then. You probably don't need as much isolation as the 280's provide. I work with some drummers that try to kill the drums when they are playing! There's never enough isolation! LOL

For the price, I figured they are worth a shot. When I practice, I put in earplugs, as the room is small, and it's loud. Can't practice to a click with earplugs though... :o

Been wanting to check this out for awhile....wow  did'nt expect to hear acoustic guitar on this ;) ....Not bad Dog! I have been in bands with drummers that could never just keep a straight beat...it was fill-o-rama Neil Pert/Keith Moon all the time. This was pretty cool, your drums have a nice full sound to em'....sounds like ya got yourself a pretty cool wife to get you a gift like that!!

Haha, that's me :D I played a bit a while ago but was too out of control I figured it was best for something/someone to lay down a real beat and for me to be out of control on everything else

Anyway, DOG, I don't know much about drums, but sounds great to my ears. Solid, I look forward to jammin' with you sometime :D

Listening to this again Ed, it's pretty amazing for only 2 weeks. When I first started on drums I played like a spastic for the first couple of months. You want to look after that wife of yours :D

Like Zappa said, "Necessity is the mother of Percussion".
WAY more competent, thoughtful, in the groove & human than I am with my little TR505.
Congrats of the hubris & the skin to keep it in!
Be nice to the wife - but install a vid camera monitor in the b'room 'cause you'll be busy for a while now.

Dogman, your timing is pretty good. Keep it up, man. This isn't shabby at all.

You definitely need a snare mic. Or you could whack that fucker a little harder.

Good job, bro.

Hey guys...thanks. Rami mentioned I might need to compress the drums since I only have 2 mics right now, so I did, and it did make them sound more full.

Remix

If anyone's interested, have another listen. I have some closed back headphones on the way, so hopefully next time I can play to a click..... :o

Casey, how hard can you whack drums? I've got a few small dings in the tom heads, but the snare is pretty clean. I didn't want to beat on them too hard if I'm not supposed to, but if I can whack em harder, I sure will. :D

I'm no pro drummer or anything, but I whack the shit out of mine. If you're dinging up the heads, they may be too loose.

New mix sounds much better. Pretty good for just 2 mics. What mic method are you using? If you haven't already, look up the 'recorderman method'. Works really good for just overheads.

Dog, whack 'em! (within reason). If you're getting dents in the skin, they're probably cheap factory skins that come with every kit, even good ones. Change the heads and you'll think you bought a 5,000 dollar kit.

Sweet.....I tuned them up just a little, and they sound a bit better. A little more bounce from the toms also....I'm gonna play in a bit, and hit them a bit harder, and see how they sound... :D
