That Norwegian Bastard
I built my own basstraps :) :) :)

I just wanted to share my happiness, with you good people.

Specially Pandamonk and Emergency exit, who were so kind with theire help and descriptions.

And Ethan`s site has also made things understandable.

I`ve now got Bass traps in my live room, and My controll room.

and it only set me back about 400$, (thats cheap in Norway).

Off all my studio investments so far this is one of the best.

My room sound so good, even my guitar amp sounded like a million bucks.

I use Rockwool for my traps and it worked flawlesly.

I cant stop listening to my Jehtro Tull records now  :D

again thanks you guys very much.

Awesome. :) congrats. I'm looking forward to building my own soon as well.

Oh :o :o one more question ;)

I have my bass traps mounted in the corners at a 45 angle, but theire resting on the floor.
Bass traps are 10cm thick rock wool 120cm x 60cm.

I`ve mounted most all of the other things on the walls a a certain height.

Will the corner basstraps need to come off from the floor, say like equal distance from roof to floor?

I think my room sounds great allready, but I just wanted to know :o

Congrats Naka's on your success!

Ideally the Bass traps should cover floor to ceiling but sometimes this is not practical.
My opinion would be to: In your sitting or listening position in the control room have them evenly spaced from the centre of your ear height so that the distance from your ear height to the top of your trap and your ear height to the bottom of the trap is even!

Sounds good.

I`ll get off my lazy bottocks and hang em` up :D

Thanks Gort :)

Hey Naka's, I edited my post, I just had to re-adjust what I said in relation to the position of your traps!!

This is just my opinion, resulting from reading all of Ethan Winers suggestions and recommendations!

Thanks Gort;

It basicly mean that I can position my traps at an equal distance form floor to roof.
In my room with my chair and my height :)

thanks

I'm in the construction stage of my traps and absorbers as we speak, and then I will fit them when I move into another room in the house that is twice the size of the one I am in now!

I can't wait! :)
