The only tracks that were doubled were the bass guitar, bass drum, and rythem guitar. (i ran a "as is" track on the bass drum and the bass guitar and a "compressed" track) as an experiment to see if it would tighten up the bottom end. I think the main reason that it sounds like too much is going on is because it wasn't a tight performance, I will fix that in the next cut.

As a side note...I played thru a Peavey studio pro solid state amp (who says you can't get tone out of a cheap ass solid state?)
I can't say enough about how much I like that amp. I have a tube fender amp that I love too....but...the peavey comes thru with the goods at LOW volume.
Live, the Fender kicks the peaveys ass, but in the studio its a toss up.
