I don't think its possible for me to mix vocals

Ha alright, i didn't think it'd come to carving out room from the other tracks, but i guess if its going to come to that then i'll try some of that too
 
I do the same thing. EQ cuts or "carving" instead of boosting whenever possible and try to leave the vox intact.

The problem is that everything has to work together. What is the point of a killer guitar tone if it sucks the life out of the vocals or bass? A tone isn't killer unless it gets along well with all the other parts of a song.
