I don't really like my voice...

Hey guys
I don't really like my voice at the moment but iv got a few songs that iv written and want to add vocals too.
Im really just asking for your opinion if you think my voice is up to the standard of being listenable and enjoyable?
Also if its not up to scratch, any tips on how to become a stronger vocalist.

Your voice definitely fits the type of genre you were playing. Don't be so harsh on yourself.

But that's only because many people don't like their voice. I think your voice is good. The song in your sig reminds me of a late 60s piece of psychedelic Britpop, especially the keyboard and vocal.
I suspect you think your voice has no panache or life to it but I think it's nicely expressive. And however you look at it, it's the voice you have.
 
I honestly think your voice fits perfectly with the song. Maybe all you need is a little bit of a confidence booster.
I'm sure the comments from me and these other guys have done the trick.

If you don't like your voice, go instrumental. Seems like there's a need for good psychedelic music without the vocal hindering the message. Words pidgeonhole a song more than anything else.
 
Your voice is perfect for the song. Most people dislike the sound of there voice when they hear it on tape or over a recording.
Keep it up it's good. :thumbs up:

It's both listenable and enjoyable. Not all notes felt 100% on key, but that's probably not a function of your voice.
 
Most of the other comments should let you know that you have a great voice and you need a confidence boost. To elaborate on that with my 2c worth, bear in mind I don't know your warmup or exercise regime but an hour of vocal exercises before recording the song should improve your control. That is what I believe you are hearing when you pass that judgement on yourself. It was mentioned that not all notes were on key and you may be hearing that. Just work on vocal exercises on a daily basis and the improvements will come. There is certainly nothing in the tonal quality of your voice that you should be unhappy with. Get it under better control and your confidence will increase. And sing like you are the best singer in the world and that will come out in the mix - jeeze what a terrible pun to use on THIS forum :/
 
If you ever watched the trials for "American Idol", there you see people who think they're great and the rest of us either cringe or roll on the floor laughing. I never liked the sound of my voice but everyone else seems to like it. Go Figure!
