I was taught early on not to mess about in the back end of a CRT television. They told me there could be up to 10kV stored back there and would light me up like a piece of flash paper.

Well, Dave, it's funny you should mention that.
I have an old Sharp Carousel microwave from years ago. One day it just quite working. Popped open the cover, and found that the start button just pressed a little snap switch with about a 3cm arm. The local shop wanted $60 just to look at it. I found a place on Ebay that sold me a package of 10 snap switches for $8 with free shipping. It's still running today, and I have 9 spare switches if it ever goes bad again.

I do have respect for what electricity can do, however. It only took one good shock to teach me that as a kid!
Funny you should mention Sharp Carousel . Did the insides of yours look like this Sharp Carousel? I had to make some 'adjustments' to a tab that operated one of the switches to get the door safety switch/latch to function correctly. One of the longer lasting appliances we've bought.

Something like that, if I recall correctly. It is really sophisticated.... you have a knob for the timer, a knob for the "power" and a start button. Fool proof, as this fool has proven!

Before the thread gets too far afield....

I didn't even know Reaper had a manual. I installed it and started using it. Any questions I had (there were a lot) had an answer on youtube. Kenny Gioia on Reaper Mania had most of the answers to the questions I have had so far. Google is your friend, every question you have, has already been asked and answered. The hard part is sometimes finding the right search terms.
