Im still gonna visit my nuendo since it was the real first recording software i used since 1.0 (damn im that old) any who nuendo always sounded mushy to me and i hated the sound to it, but samplitude just has this ummph to it, check this out for example.

I have been using Sonar 4 for a while and it sounds just as good as any of the others ( I just upgraded to Sonar 5 ). All of the Multi Track software sound nearly identical.

If you find that your mixes sound "mushy" in one sequencer and clear in another, there's clearly something wrong with either your ears or your computer or something else, but not the sequencers. There are differences in sound, true, but nothing to turn an entire mix to mush. It's only a tiny bit of coloring, less even then converters color.

That beeing said, I voted for Nuendo, simply because I like it (although I have not used samplitude).

If your main emphasis is recording and not MIDI, then SAMP should be your choice. If you use a lot of MIDI, then Nuendo.

Perhaps you were revering to the EQ and compression that comes with Nuendo, which sucks almost as bad the cubase plugins. They are horrible, although I found the Nuendo EQ's lowpass to be somewhat usable on some stuff.

samplitude is nice it has ao onscreen mixer its a very cool program

Well

Im moving to samplitude goodbye Nuendo n protools.

samplitudes "recent" marriage with RME after RME's divorce from The Borg has really kicked Sam sales into high gear.

Sam's ASIO DM implementation should be a model for everyone. Their only fault there IMHO is the inability to specify a mono hardware out, but thats usually a VERY tiny issue and one that most people dont or wouldnt care about. Strangely of all people its Cubendo that gets that feature right, while being unable to do ASIO DM parallel sends that Sam can do, even though both are using the same mixinachip interface to the DM host.

I think its a wonderful app. Only thing that keeps me off it is its windowing and menuing structure. Its editing speed is starting to REALLY pick up. No need for 50 different mouse tools, and all sorts of whacky play/mark/markout/record cursor deals, it just goes

Synthax is REALLY pushing this thing hard to their dealers and I think Sam is going to gain even more support soon
