...I recorded my first tracks on my computer via Pro Tools Free.

The only software I have that's as sophisticated as this is MicroSoft Visio cad program. And maybe Falcon IV.

I didn't really do any muti-tracking because I was too tired this evening after work to set anything up or figure it out, but I did run my eight-track Tascam master out to the computer and played around with the software awhile to get familiar with it. I mixed on the Tascam, but I used the effects and EQ on Pro Tools.

The effects sound good and it has a lot of flexibility. There's a lot to learn about this software and what it is capable of doing. Of course you guys that have been using it already know all this already. It's all new to me though. I've been living in the analog world for the past decade and a half+.

Tomorrow I'm going to figure out how to use the mixer in my Tascam to track to ProTools. Awesome software.

I've been using it for a little over a year now and my biggest bitch is the manual. I'm constantly learning new stuff though and there's so much in there that it would take a hack like me a long time to learn it all.:p

It would be nice to have more in/out, better converters etc. but right now the rest of my setup doesn't justify that.

For what it cost me, I think it kicks ass.

My point exactly. I'm not certain that I will start recording HD 100% of the time. It's nice to be able to use this to see what it's all about.

I had the manual displayed in .pdf, but it would not print correctly.
The small graphic pictures did OK, but no text. Tried twice, then gave up on printing it.

Is there a plug-in for reverb to use with PTF?

This is the first recording software I have ever laid eyes on.

I still may go the ADAT route next year.

There aren't any free 'verb plugs but D-Verb is the cheapest and is actually pretty decent for $50 as long as you don't go crazy with it.

I too have considered going the ADAT/HD route but the more I use PT the more I like it.
