I actually had a guy ask me this question the other day when I was in a local music store...
"If you had the choice between a Rode NT-1/ART Tube MP or a Neumann U87/Avalon 737SP, which would you get?"
I laughed, looked at him, smiled, and told him to do the math... then I asked him if he were serious. He said he was.
Gee let me think $300 bucks or $4,000...
He then told me he new "a guy" that could get him the latter setup for $1000... I bet they have "something wrong" with the serial numbers too!
