this is because one microphone=one channel
and one channel=mono
so when you plug in a single microphone, all you are going to record is a single mono channel. there is no point in recording two channels...because all it's going to be is the same thing coming out both speakers at the same level (which is what mono is)

a vocal is not a stereo instrument.
Pan your vocal in the middle...you hear it out of both speakers right? That's how you do it.

If you click on the help files it will tell you how to do it.

He can't figure out how to record in stereo, yet he has a (admittedly outdated version) of $2500 worth of software.

$25 for a recording book and $600 on Cubase would have been a better option. (unless you do a lot of video, that is the only difference between Nuendo and Cubase)

I could of sworn I said (everythings panned) but ok, I do alot of video and audio and nuendo is my first program I have ever touched but I should have gone analog

How would you do sound for video in analog? Can you even get a u-matic anymore?

When you add a track, choose stereo.
