Alright, this is what I got.

This was done on Guitar Studio.

I recorded backing tracks. Mixed down to two stereo tracks. Now I want to add vocals. When I record the vocal track, the backing tracks are recorded with the vocals. On the same track as the vocals! It wont do it if I mute the left mixdown track, but thats really annoying. I'd like to get it to work right. Its not bleeding from the speakers because I used headphones. It does it even if the speakers are turned off.

I'm using the regular old SB soundcard that came with my Dell.

Its probably something simple, huh?

Yup...
Open your Windows SB mixer (double click yellow speaker icon on the taskbar near clock), click Options --> Properties --> Recording, and select Line In (you routed your vocals through this input, didn't you?). DO NOT select something like "What U hear"...
