I cant access the vst's i downloaded!!!!!

i downloaded VST's and put them in my VST folder but they aren't showing up. anybody know what I'm doing wrong???
At this point, I'll try anything. I'm using Cubase 5 LE. Thank you.
 
Did you put them in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\Cubase LE 5\VSTPlugins? If they are, you need to restart Cubase for them to show up. And I'm pretty sure they need to be .dll files. If they are .exe, you need to run that.
 
I'm running it on a macbook pro so i don't believe i have a C drive. i tried putting the .dll files in the VST folder and restarting Cubase and it didn't do the trick

Very simple:

In OSX the extension for VST is always .vst (go figure the extension actually makes sense on OSX, seriously teh feck is a .dll? :laughings:).

.dll files doesn't work. If they were not programed for mac then it's a no go.

They go in the HD/library/audio/plugins/vst folder btw.
