Who Cares!
That maybe i need to take a breather for a min, and but the brakes on smash and focus on the fam, and nature. I did an LP that i promised my self and i sorta kinda feel content. Though i didnt push a million, but at least i did enough guerilla marketing to build a stupid buzz round my name.......

Until I return, saying peace. Got some fresh air to go catch.

nigga you better stay on tha grind or all that buzz is gon fizzle out, you gon get forgotten about, keep pushin product out, rest for like a weeked or somthin...

Just takes a little time homie, you'll push a million, I know you can.

I agree....if you take a "break" now it's like saying your quitting. you already created a buzz, you didn't really expect to sell a million with that lp did you? you have the talent, now what you need is the marketing and you need to present this lp to every single label in the business. now is the time to push out another album to show em you mean business

KT..now isnt the time to take a break..you need to be more on your grind now then ever..now that you have created a buzz..start booking shows..to created even a bigger buzz..you need to make a bigger buzz to be heard and try to become regional..once you are able to do that ant about a 2month break (writing new material) and get ready to start all over again..

you never take a breat when you have a buzz..just like you have it now it could be gone in less time it took you to get it..

Exactly!

Take a break when all the buzz is about me! :D
Nah, it's good to take a little break here and ther, but timing is key. Would you stop in the middle of sex to go to the store and buy some milk? Nah, get the nut first!!!! :D :D :D

Actually, ive pulled that stunt b4 plenty of times :D

Well, ive never mentioned quit neither, but i have material to suppress the time im taking to get my business aspects in order to build a firm foundation. Also I use original beats compared to mixtape rappers who rap to the current and latest productions.

My brain actually hurts, and those who know me can vouch that I put in stupid amount of work from son up to sun down. But I just need to get things in perspective and see the avenue I wanna take. I knew a million was never intended but i didnt know 1,000 wouldve been achieved for a non name rapper a majority can give 3 f's about.

But i appreciate the comments and i'll make it a weekend getaway or something, b4 you guys hang me by the mic cord.

just wat i was goin do if u bounced b4 we get on a track haha

lol,

Some say a small amount of time off is always needed. Sometimes timing doesn't matter. In your case, it's going to be a weekend getaway. You should make it time to relax, and then also time to get the business end of things together. Personally I think that you shouldn't relax JUST yet, at 1,000 copies sold, your in a good position (maybe another 2-3 thousand sold would be better) to candidate yourself to achieve a good deal by a recording label. your music is great man, it's something I can bump to. Personally I hate/dislike the type of music in the mainstream these days. However, because it's so shitty, it gives us a chance to really make it. I know I can do better than singing a song about my car having peanut butter seats.... Do what you do home boy. And have fun with it, cause breaks once your larger than life, is unheard of unless your retiring...

word, at the same time im asking myself why am I who I am?

Why would the outside party peep and vibe and really become aware of what im saying?

Some people have a cocky sense bout themselves but have the right formula behind it, so say you have dude A who's wordplay is sick and dude B who's a good performer and im featured on something I always get the distinctive notice you know. I cant get metaphors for shit and damn well not suave on no mic, but I know my rawness and energy 99% of the times makes you want to smash something through ya momma's front window.

So its just me trying to evaluate who I am as an artist and at what broad scale im trying to reel in, so if I was to ask you guys as a consumer POV, what is it bout Trakz that makes you say hells yeah?

Delivery, heart, an artist who is willing to go out and do the dirty work and get noticed. You gotta understand, each artist has their own style. But I feel ya. The best time to evaluate would probably be now, before you go platinum. I sat down a long while ago, and did the same thing, and found out that being an artist isn't my cup of tea so to speak. I do better in production, my lyrics & delivery sucks at the moment lol. Though I did have some tracks that were written whenever I had mad emotions running through my veins, and they came out exactly how I felt. Your style makes you stand out because your you and nobody can take that from you. I also realized a while ago, that though statistics state that X is selling because of some fad. , that the real listeners are still out there, and are willing to sit and LISTEN to what someone says. IMO fuck the rest who choose to sleep, and keep doing you homie cause you do you the best. This industry is already cluttered with cats who sound like other cats who's production sounds like that other cat. Your character, and those around you will stand out for the best. Remember back in the day, before all the same ole shit was around of today, there were artists that sounded totally different than one another (well most of them) and everyone appreciated them for their music, and they paved the way. Then you got the what I call the bypassed generation of hip hop, and then you got us. Back to the roots homie, be all that you can be.

Speaking from experience, fam... There is no "taking a break".

When I dropped my last LP in June of 05', I put in a big push. I toured, did guest spots, got some press, made a buzz... Like you, I moved that first thousand in a matter of a month or two... But here I am, a year and a half later, and I've moved just over 3300 units of that LP.

I decided to take some time, to be with my newborn son and my wife. I turned down some shows I should've done, and I lost a lot of my buzz. The quality of the music has kept me moving units over the time, but I find myself at this time, trying to rebuild what I had in the summer of 05'. Had I attacked in fall of 05, and carried that buzz on through to 06 strong, I easily could've moved double what I've done by now...

I'm currently working on a new project, which I hope to get signed off of. I'll be shopping it to labels, and trying to utilize that previous buzz to get me some notoriety within the underground/indie scene. I'm praying it works...

I had a good reason to fall back when I did... My son was more than worth losing my buzz over... But I think if I had put my mind to it, I could've maintained my status and pushed it further without sacrificing my family like I thought I would. Live and learn I guess...

what really sold it for me was that i could just FEEL the effort that was put into your work. it wasn't lazy or half-assed like a lot of the newer big studio hip hop. the lyrics were strong, the delivery was strong, and the beats were top notch. but yeah your delivery has a lot of feeling and truth to it, it just sounds REAL. keep it up.

I appreciate it, and it sounds better coming from some one who has the actual product at hand (that was a plug to grab the lp people). I have my A game on point, just gonna take the weekend and really zone......

I feel ya killah. Sometimes its good to take alittle time off to rethink ya craft. I took 2 years off after I left my management in 2003 due to lack of funds.. But came back when one of my former management told me a rep from Def Jam wanted to talk to me about a possible deal but I missed the phone call when he called.. I listen to those tracks that my management sent off in 2003 , and got a call from Def Jam in 2005. I couldnt believe they wanted to sign me from that. But I know gods got better things though. This is an unpredictable world we live in. Ya never know whos scounting you.

Wish the best for ya buddy.
