why are they limited? cant you just put the pickup upside down?

(i really dont know, thats why i'm asking)

If the poles are staggered for right handed strings, then the staggering won't be compatible with left handed...

I'm confused too.. And quite upset that everything is so very difficult for me as a lefty...

Is the strat itself a left handed version? Go ahead and open up the guts and see what the pups look like - and see what the stagering looks like also.

I know some of the single coil pups will have a triangular base and that could be a problem to deal with. But others will just be the single coil shape and could be put in any way you want.

One thing to consider, if you bought a $350 MIM strat, then why would you want to put in $400+ pickups?

What's your goal with this thing? Is it just to noisy? You probably need to do a little more soul searching and web digging to get your answers.

It is a brand new lefty MIM strat, which I bought for the specific purpose of hot rodding.. I don't really need to flip the current pickups.... What I'd like to have is the Custom Shop Fat 50's... Which they don't make in LH...

Man, I feel for ya dude, as I am a lefty as well. :D I've always just flipped the pup. All my guitars have buckers, so I don't know what staggering means. I would like any suggestions on this pup isssue as well. Oh yeah, I don't know if your into metal, but I just bought an Iommi sg, the Epi version, and it is incredible, man. The pups are flipped in it. They sound so good. They're Gibson PAF pro Iommi model. Check em out.

Yeah.. I'll probably just flip em and be done with it... Those gibsons sound good for my other guitar...

It's a 64 Gibson Melody Maker.. Right now it only has a Seymour Duncan PAF-knockoff bridge pickup... and I'm gonna have it routed for a neck pickup... maybe I'll checkout that Iommi model...
