Just bought a studio projects b1 mic, tascam us-122 and monitor headphones.

Got my kit up and running, got a free version on cubase vts with the tascam.

My question is how the hell do you monitor the last recording you made so you can record the next layer? I read the instructions, it say that their software does not have this function? What pile of shit even mixcraft had this.

Any ideas how to do this, I know you must be able to!!

Thanks

On which program will you be doing that on? Cuz ya question is "how the hell do you monitor the last recording you made so you can record the next layer?" and can you elborate(clear it up and more details) on that more.

You can absolutely monitor while tracking in cubasis vst. Make sure you have direct monitoring "on" on the tascam and the direct monitoring volume turned up. Also make sure your headphones are connected to the Tascam and the headphone volume is turned up to a reasonable level. I don't remember what other steps you need to take within the software, as I haven't used that version in over a year, but as long as the Tascam driver is selected, you should be good to go. Check that manual again.
