WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was big headed before but now I swear to the big man above I'd pass as part of the milky way right now

I played the bass & the 2 guitars. The percussion is all pre-recorded. I started off with a set of loops courtesy of a demo CD supplied with a boss BR1600 & when RAMI sent me back the wavs I added the loops that fitted back into the track. I had planned to record real percussion but IMHO the loops are fine.....

awesome....thanks or the feedback

RAMI..........FYI, I duplicated the kick & snare tracks so I could gate one & leave the other open as it was recorded. The gated tracks I EQ'd to sound right through my verbs & mixed the open & gated tracks to suit my ear at the time

awesome stuff........I keep trying to good rep True, but I must spread it around first...

Cool tune....does have a Trower vibe to it. I'm listening on phones, but that kick and snare have a great snap. Nice mix all around. And great playing....

Fun tune guys....really sounds good.

Very tight. You guys sound like you're playing it live. I like the use of verbs. Lush and funky.

slidey, is the lighthouse in your site's photo section really right next to your house?

yup it's about it's about 60 feet approx. from my front door

you know...Now that I'm lidtening to this as a SLIDEY fan (which I've now become...BIG TIME), this is such a KILLER track. Besides the obvios stuf, like the world-class guitar playing, no matter what I focus on, whether it's the bass, rythm guitar, or general arrangement, I am blown away by the detail and craftsmanship in this tune. Every track is as good as can be....

...except for the drums.....And I'm not trying to be modest.....There is so much more I could have done in this tune. Listening now as a detached observer, it sounds like the "Average White Band" trying to keep up with "Return to Forver".

I disagree with you doing 'more' Rami. I think if you had done more with the drums, it would have become too busy. The way it is...with the smooth-cool axe playing, the drums breath BIG...and with the un-overly busy, yet ass kicking drums you tracked....the guitar moves like guilded water....The percussion effects were icing to the drums without taking them too far.

You are right on with your description of Slidey's playing....BUT... your drum prowess and gift of knowing what to play, where and when, are spot on....exactly as needed and takes the song right where it belongs....to the Kick Ass zone!

True :)

This is why you're an assface; you are SO wrong here. :) Listen to True. She be knowing. Less is more sometimes.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to true-eurt again.

I still can't give you any love....But you know that if you lived in Montreal, you'd have already turned down at least 3-7 of my marriage proposals. :D

Don't matter to me...If he's in, I'm buyig...If there's no sex involved, at least I can pick his brain and produce one good song from it. :D

Well hell, you know where to find me! Pick away! I'd like to do likewise!! :) But I don't want to keep you from True... :)

MAN...................I love you guys..

sheesh, I mean,.............shucks

RAMI I was slightly nervous upon recieving the files I must admit. What's it gonna be like, will my system accept the files, will it flash up "not for use in GB!!!!!"

I got the tracks in & lined them up & WOW. I would have played the part more or less as you did & would have consiously applied the "less is more" approach because I'm a huge lover of the whole funk thing. The only thing I would have dictated if I'd thought was the pushes at the very end. You played them (believe it or not) exactly as I wanted them.....

& lets be straight I am a self confessed standard snob if the drums didn't meet up to standard I would have said so & not used them but they rocked.....

I had musician friends round today & played them the track without telling them who had done what & mucho impressedo all round. They are also used to hearing me drum pretty much everything up here at QPQ & they wondered about the difference but couldn't quite put a finger on it.......

Great, man. I'm glad you liked it enough to use it. I am basically satisfied with what I did, but I think it's just a little robotic at times. I could have done a little more on the bell ride, rather than playing straight 8th notes all the way through...I could have syncopated my riding a bit, either by inverting (playing the "and"'s) or throwing in some 16th's to spice it up. I just find my playing a little static. But, overall, it's a killer song.

Hey Slidey, I added you to my LINKS page.

Also, I put up the tune on my COLLOBORATIONS. If you'd rather I take it down, let me know...I actually should asked your permission before putting it up, so if I don't see a response from you today, I'll take it down until I get your permission, if you want to give it to me. I'll understand if you don't want people all downloading it for free.

You need to listen to some more old school funk then. It was plenty spicy. ;)

In fact, a great exercise for your groove as a bassist and guitarist is to lay down a drum track groove, as square as possible, kick on 1 and 3, backbeat on 2 and 4, eights only on the hats, NO ACCENT. about 80-90bpm.

Then, take that squareass drum part, and play over it, and see how deep a pocket you can make. It's doable, if you feel it naturally anyway.

Trust me, your drums were just fine.

Thanx, man....That sounds like a great exercise. I need to "jam" with myself more....(not that, you perverts...:D ) . I practice a lot, but don't just "play" often. I'm either writing on another instrument or laying down a track.

I'm cool with that RAMI

only when It's remixed & part of an album then I want at least a grand per note per download:D:D:D
