Recover as in shake hands, forgive the outbursts and agree to disagree on some points.

There are actually some thoughtful posts and good info mixed in among the anarchy.

The forum is too important in general for it to become a battleground for our personal differences. It’s now spread to several threads. The collateral damage isn’t worth it.

As it stands right now everyone involved has skills and background we can all benefit from. These spats are a distraction from the reason we probably all came here for in the firsts place.

I found this bbs while doing a search for back issues of Home & Studio Recording magazine. It was shortly after I took my studio out of storage and set it up again. I thought “Hey cool – a home recording community on the web.” I signed up looking to discuss our common interests, and then got distracted myself with the social complications arising from the inevitable misunderstands typical of these forums.

I bet just about everyone is here for a similar reason. Lets take a deep breath and start over.

well, I can do that, on all pointd except one, noted above. I'm not willing to, once again, forgive somebody who obviously will not learn not to make the same mistake again.

However, that noted, this fact does not in any way prevent me from having serious discussions about anything.

Yes. You missed Reels repetetive unprovoced attacks, and his admission that his apologies are in fact completely insincere lies. He's not sorry, he thinks he have done nothing wrong. He thinks it's OK to insult people for no reason, and obviously enjoys being an asshole.

Based on my knowledge of technology and overall music recording/production/reproduction chain (process), I can make this statement: digital recording/reproduction is not a compromise (nor an alternative) to analog recording/reproduction, but rather is a compromise (or an alternative) to recording/reproduction period.
