My neighbor's grandfather used to be a TV repairman, and he's got hundreds of NOS tubes, still in boxes. My neighbor's getting them all out of his garage for him, and I said I'd check around, see if they could be sold for anything. So... can they? I don't know what they are, if they're all the same thing, or anything. But say you see a lot of, say, 300 mixed perfect condition TV tubes still in the boxed on eBay. Would you bid?

It depends on the valve types... if they could be used in some pro audio equipment, and those were a decent number of tubes in the lot, then perhaps. If they are television-specific (not sure what types of vacuum tubes went into televisions), then what would be the use of them, save for someone who still repairs old televisions?

I'd say grab em, and check around to see what types might be usefull... guitar amps and tube-based mics and preamps take a nuber of different types of tubes... its free so, worth investigating!

Nope just junk. You should just send them all to me so I can make Christmas tree ornaments for orphans out of them. I'll pay shipping.

Ah, kay. So, how much will you give these ornaments away for? I want a percentage.

How bout 50%. 50% of 0 is 0. Then there's handling fees so you would owe me about $98.32 when the deal is done. I'll expect the tubes and your check in the mail.

There will probably be some 12AU7 and 5-series rectifier tubes, at least.

There are plenty of tube TV nuts out there, one of them could probably give you a ballpark. Probably less $$ than some audio tubes would fetch, audio guys are way more retarded. For some collectors, the box can be as important as the tube itself.

Any other stuff like that, old calendars from supply companies, posters, service manuals, etc., collectors love it.

Ah, k. Well, I'll see what's in there once he gets them all, see what's worth trying to use or sell, then.
