First, I'd like to say thanks ahead of time for being patient with my NoObism.
My questions are simple, yet layered.
FYI: **I have a Phenom Quad 4 Processor with 4GB RAM, 2.6 Ghz speed, Shit load of disk space, and a Creative Sound-Blaster X-Fi sound card (with analog input).
**I have ACID Music Studio 7.0
**I have And AUDIX F-15 Condenser Mic (100 Hz-20 Hz);
**I will be recording ONE TRACk at a time
**I am an amateur, with no desires at all of becoming rich an famous. I am interested in recording music for it's purely enjoyable nature. ( I don't need the "Ultimate Set-UP"
MY QUESTIONS: **To my dismay I found, after purchasing the mic, that I could not just simply "plug my mic into the PC and record"--DUH! (Even though software Swears that all you need to do is "plug in an instrument or mic and play) At any rate I've realized of course that I need Phantom Power.
So the question is; Is Phantom Power ALL I REALLY NEED to start recording?
I mean obviously read alot about Interfaces and Preamps, but are these really neccasary on a small scale, one track recording set up?
Also, what about Battery powered Mics?
**I want to use my SoundCard to help increase the sound qaulity but my card doesnt have a USB port; Will the recordings still go through the soundcard even if it is plugged in USB port somewhere else on the computer?
And finallyy. **What about those portable Recorders? Do they work the same as Interfaces, or would I need an Interfaces along with a recorder?
Again, thanks for your patience
