Hum from computer monitor

I use my PC for recording. I tracked down a hum I was getting during recording today. It seems it was being caused by my computer monitor. Would an LCD flatscreen monitor improve this?

Yes.

You can also learn the recording start/stop hotkeys, and track with the monitor off. That's what I usually do.
