HUI question

Running pro tools 7.3 M Powered
M Audio 410
mac g5 etc

Been toying with the idea of purchasing the Presonus Faderport DAW controller.
But have since found a used Tascam fw1082.

Will this peripheral work similar to the faderport using the HUI protocol?

Are there any issues limitations I should be aware of?

Also, using the M Audio 410 as the "dongle" could I possibly use the I/O's on the tascam or would that area be null and void and it would merely be a controller.

You would not however be able to use the I/O on the tascam...

I think i'd use the tascam personally..more faders

you could assign a fader to VCA (group) masters..
