Hey everyone,

Thanks for the positive comments about this collaboration everyone. I'm sure Shaun and I were hoping to make something that would go over well with this disciplined and discerning crowd and i think we came near.

If you want to see who did what check out the production notes link that was posted with the song.

Production Notes

Thanks for setting this up Sluice, i think you should saunter slowly down that hill and record em all soft and heavy (a la that joke about the bull wanting to run down the hill and have a cow). I don't know if it was Buddha or the Joker that said that, not sure.

You have to really appreciate when it become part of the common vernacular to describe something as "Zeppelin/Tool/Tom Gagne-esque"

Yeah Chad, it is loud. The first thing Shaun said to me when we started was "I hate a quiet mp3". I don't know how he gets em this loud he gave me the recipe but I've yet been able to bake that cake.

That wall of sound of those guits is Shaun's doing, imagine my suprise opening up my first mp3 from him and getting that. I was quite the optimist after that.

Thanks very much for the very nice feedback everyone.

SmmmmmmmmmoKE!!!

Damn!! I started d/l this two day's ago (no kidding) I got the rest of it this evening. No one's at home, and I set these 20/20's on fuckin fire with this tune guy's:D . Zep and Rush had a baby and called it "Alice-n-Chains" that's what this sounded like to me LOL!! Shit don't stop here, you guy's need to do more of this kinda stuff! Guitars are brutal, and those voc's Slam! Great song to boot. I'm given out 10**********

David

Thanks again everyone. Wow i really liked the song but i was unsure how everyone here would take it. You guys all rule. I guess me Evan and i are gonna have to hook up again in the future. But i think he really made this tune with his vocal delivery. very talented he is indeed.

Cool!

I feel a bit like Lt. Bob...mixing comments don't seem appropriate for the challenge.

Good fun!

BIG!!!
You guys had some fun! Great collab - sounds like you guys have been working together for a while.

nice.......the drums are pretty damn sweet...........very well planned out.....the vocals are very strong too............the mix seems just a bit harsh, but i'm wearing headphones which could account for some of that.........good heavy with some good breaks for dynamics.....i like it

Damn, this smokes. It reminds me of Rush meets Black Sabbath.
This is one of those songs Im glad I downloaded......
Great Collab

Sounds great guys, cool job on the collab.

I really dug the big guitar sound, killer on the cans.
Vox Rox!:D

Really involved production, must have been tough on a collab.

Awsome work!

Pete

Damn good!

Second listen. At 95db.:D

Mix is a bit strident. My desk should be vibrating more at this volume level.;)

The song absolutely kicks ass. Very atmospheric, yet still heavy. This is going straight to the iTunes folder.

The production notes are a nice addition. It's cool to have some insight as to how this came together.

You guys need to do some more collabs. Smartbox kicks ass!

This is so cool. Vocals are fantastic. Sounds are great! Man you guys rock. Sounds like you have been working together for a while.

Production is great too. I can't get over how good this sounds. You have carved out an original sound amongst many influences.

I love the Sweet Love Come Back. It is such a nice break amongst the wall of sound.

Second listen: I'm doing the Beavis and Butthead thing as it rocks along! :D

I agree that the mix sounds too boosted in the upper mids, making the crunch guitar to sizzly, but thats really my only gripe. I thought this one was put together really well all around. Good playing and guitar tones--cool lyrics, and a great vocal performance. Hey, was that high part a vocal or a guitar or a mix of both? Whatever, it was awesome! I like the style of the music too--its borrowing from several different camps, but it sounds fresh rather than derivative. In other words, the two of you are a good pairing and should do more!

....First of all.... GREAT Page!!! This was really cool! I would like to see all of the folks in here with "packaged" tunes like this. Having all of this visual, and background info really does add to the whole listening experience.. ....and to the fun. ...and i dont find the way you did it pretensious at all, ....something i know we all worry about when putting up pages of grandeur.

The tune-...another big thumbs up!! This was a cool collab fellas. Having heard enough of each of your tunes to see where youre each coming from, it's pretty apparent who the different influences are coming from. I thinks thats a fun aspect to this particular challenge..... .....seeing what each member brings to the table. (that cool page w/ production notes helps too:) ) This is too cool an effort for nits.

GREAT JOB!!

Great job guys!!!!

That was awesome.

Only complaint is it seems I heard some clipping issues starting at about 4:23.

Those vocals smoked. VERY NICE.

Excellent work

ok im comp speakers...BUT I CAN TELL THIS IS ROCKWORTHY on reg speakers....

AWESOME....that vocal is killler...maybe a bit too much vibrato in spots...but overall KICK ASS..

the guitars sound great too...i like the breakdown right after the begining!

all that sunth stuff....FUCK I WISH I HAD A SYNTH OR THE ABLITY TO PLAY ONE!>!!>!>!>

yep i agree with guernica about getting to nitpicky ...this is past that to me....

that screaming ......suuuuweeeeet!

(jeez i shouldnt have posted my sissy little song with this shit on the board.....).

the WHOLE outtro guitar parts fucking great ...

Ooooh yeah

I LIKE IT!! Nice job guys --and don't change the drums. The quick clean hits are a nice contrast to what's going on with everything else.

The voices are great.
The lead guitar that comes in around 4:00 is brilliant. The ending is a great stark contrast to the rest of the piece--nice touch. Sometimes it's tough to end pieces like this.

WWWOOOOWWW

You guys fuckin kick stinkin Ass till its bruised!!

Great sound and tune!

Shit...........That must have been fun!!

Congratulations and Great Job!

Joel

Hot DAMN!

Great vox, nice guitar work, nice sound. maybe a bit more beef to the drums and bass. But damn, I'd be proud of this!

~scott

Yep, you guys should be proud. Very nice production. Awesome spread on the metal guitar and the segue into the softer part was excellent. How come the snare is so laid back? Great vocal, and I like the vocal effects for this piece. Most of the words were easy to understand, except for a few places. Nice big sound on that guitar solo. Outstanding effort!
