The interface works great on my old HP Media Center Pentium 4 dinosaur. Just picked up an i7 quad-core Windows 7 64-bit HP DV8T laptop. It has a 4-pin firewire port, so I picked up a 6pin-to-4pin firewire cable, downloaded the latest FP10 driver, and nothing... won't sync, just hangs on the red light. The Firepod control panel doesn't see the device, and there is no indication whatsoever that the laptop is recognizing an external device.
I called Presonus tech support and they said right off the bat that it is probably due to the actual firewire port not having the right kind of chipset or something, but I read here that someone with the same laptop at least got his DV8T to recognize the device (even though it wasn't sync'ing... note: I think his post may have also been prior to the release of the Win7 drivers?)

Anyone else in the same boat know of a work-around? Need to get back up and running asap...
Any advice would be a huge help... Thanks!
