Hey everybody, I'm generally new to the home recording world, and I have a few questions about my current set-up.
I'm using a HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop along with a Line 6 UX1 interface for instruments and a Tube MP for a few mics (two Apex pencil mics and a Apex diaphragm mic). Its pretty basic, but I wanted to know just how capable a little set up like mine is, and exactly what its capable of.
On the software side of things I use Ableton Live 8 suite, I really think its an amazing program, does anybody else use it? Id like to know if there was something better for PC, or maybe i should just save up and get a mac?

You dont have to go to a mac to have a stable system...the Line6 gearbox+Abelton is a heavy MP hogging combo...Id reccomend switching to a dual prossessor.

I have dv6000, I upgrade the chip to the core 2 duo. and the memory also 4GB. Always I do recodind on my home. that's why i need high configure laptop or system.
