HP 8110i CD Writer Plus

Hi All,

I just installed my cd burner and made a couple of cds tonight...

I know this is not the top of the line, but for the price, I couldn't be more pleased :)

I was told by several folks to expect to mess up the first few times and make some
coasters, but I'm happy to report 100% success on both cd's I recorded tonight!

I even installed the darn thing myself if you can believe that...

I am Woman hear me ROAR :)

I'm certainly not saying I know everything, but just a few weeks ago I knew absolutely nuthin' about this digital recording stuff - I've learned so much from this site and everyone who participates here.

congrats melissa... i did the same thing with my cd r... it was a piece of cake.. but the salesman at circuit city told me it was difficult...and that i should let them install it... and pay the extra $98421435 .. hmmnn.. i think its a conspiracy between computer repair shops and venders to try and not let the " public " find out how easy computers really are , because they will all lose their jobs.. and mass recession will ensue.. or.. the kid just wanted to make an extra $5 commission... :D ...

Hi all - same thing with me - installed a HP 7500 series CD-RW drive, despite being techno-backward. RTFM twice, watched the CD video three times (complete with groovy soundtrack) and when I took the top off the computer, I felt a bit like somebody had handed me a scalpel and invited me to do a little open heart surgery. What a blast. My wife was real impressed.

p.s. The new drive works, too. A life-changing experience.
 
Yes Dragon - learning about all of this stuff has been a trip for me!! And I have you to thank for providing such a good place for my schooling! Oh, and buy the way... I've been
looking for a good used EV RE-20 mic for many weeks with no luck... I posted on one of the other boards at this site and voila - someone e mailed me saying they knew someone that had one for sale... Just another reason why I'm spreading the word around about this
site :).

Dobro - I had the same feeling and hubby was
very impressed that I was able to install
and make the thing work too.

Thanks to Dobro for telling me about lisstune's post, I got the HP CD writer and actually installed it myself. I was scared to death but the installation went great and I immediately burned a cd from some files I already had, and it came out perfectly...Now I sorta feel like Barney Fife AFTER the bad guys are in the jail. Yup, pretty darn pleased....gibs
