How's this for a basic, big, ballsy, rock 'n roll sound? No leads...this is just the intro. Just wanna make sure I'm headed in the right direction before I drive any further down the road...

On my setup the bass is way to prominent - I like the bass sound, but really pushing it for level. The rythm guits seem to low, are a little muddy and seem to lack high end. This could all be from the bass taking over though. Anyway - to answer your question it does have balls, but they need to be adjusted a little I think.

Thanks for the input. I mixed this too quietly. Not that the song is too quiet, but that I was listening too quietly--shouldn't have done it late at night. As soon as I cranked it up a bit, I heard exactly what you were saying. Here's a remix of the same snippet. Is it any better?
I think the sounds I've tracked so far are good enough to warrant moving forward. Looking forward to tracking the leads tonight.

Bass fits better in the mix but still is little louder for my taste. Overall, sounds good, try to upload the entire clip so we can hear it in its final state.

Damn! No kidding? I need to stop mixing and just listen to some more reference material. Gotta figure out the bass in this room...
