i love the vibe going on there..

its very funky riffin...still good

i love the snare too.

what kind of cymbals??

Thanks system.

Cymbals are Paiste fast crash, and Paiste Dimension series.
Ride is Sabian Hand hammered.
Hi Hats are Zildijian quick beats.
And the China is a 18 in" Wuhan.

These were all house cymbals.
The drummer arrived to the session with sabian B8's....and those dont cut the mustard, so he rented mine.

Ok, reminds me a bit of Primus. Has a very funky vibe. Not Les Claypool's vocals, but this is different. Nice sounds. I'd like to hear a bit more low end myself, but that is a personal preference for this type of music. Drums sound good, but could use a bit more beef....lower end. Vocals sit pretty well, and the voice is recorded well. Is that you singing Chris? Very cool voice. Nice tune. It's one of those songs that strikes me as way too short. It could go on a while, and keep my attention. I will liken it to Tool, meets Primus. Slightly different than anything else out there, yet not too quirky. No real dislikes here.....just some minor tweaking, and it will kick ass. Actually, rocks as is.

Love the guitar part behind the verses. I can never get that sound from my guitar. May I ask about the gear used to achieve that sound?

Love the chorus guitars (well it sounds big) as well. I guess it helps that you can play good guitar. :)

I like it. Is that the same drummer madman that is on the PMC tracks? If only Roland can clone him into a drum machine, I'd buy it. :)

Really love the huge airy sound around 2:44. Just sound really nice. Then buildup is nice. Doesn't disappoint at all. :)

If I say Keep Rockin' to everyone, people will start calling me the "Keep rockin' dude". What the heck: "Keep rockin'". :)

Sorry have no opinion on the mix, sounds very nice to me but I'm listening on a home theater system to everything sounds very nice on this. :)

This isnt my band i just recorded them. :)

Clean gts Big bub are a fender blues junior miced with a u87 and a r121 to a trident S20 to a RNC 1173. The guitar was a Gibon sg.

Dogman..agreed ill boost the lows a tad, good call.

Thanks to all for the reviews.

I did think that sound of the band wasn't like the one I heard for PMC but wasn't sure. This bands sound very good too. I guess it's also the fact that many people do their own stuff and put it up that makes me like it more. It's not the $20 CD that only the priviledged few are able to sell at Walmart. It's also the real passion of people that do it for the fun of it and have fun jamming. :)

Pretty sweet band - they've got their shit together. I like the singer, although he's sometimes flat or short at times. Maybe slap some autotune on those parts. I think the snare could be a bit brighter. Toms sound damn good - very powerful. The guitars could be panned slightly harder left and right I think. (More apparent when listening on headhphones). Overall this is a great mix, as always, but I figure you're so used to compliments that I would try to be more critical.

Nice mix Chris. Dogman's got good ears. ...dog ears.

Beautiful tone on the gtr at 2:50.

Vocal’s just a little low to my ear.

Nothing more to add really.

Must say though, damn is it just me or do you just keep getting better and better? The guits sound effin fantastic to me. :D

edit - one question tho - How did you set the mics up? Royer close in and the 87 back 2-3 feet? Where in relation to the cone? Tilt? Thanks!

Very good job overall but I definately agree, more ass in the drums please. Actually I'd want more overall drum level.

Gee that's a nice clear recorded sound. I wish, I wish!! Some parts of it reminded me of Silverchair, an Australian band who had a song during the Medievil Times sequence in The Cable Guy

Man...thats what i was thinking exactly!!
Good job and sounds great here chris...as usual you bastard! :D

More snare and maybe a touch more cymbals would be cool. They seem a little low in relation to the kick. Band kind of sounds like really early Tool. Mix sounds pretty good otherwise.

Recorded sounds are good although you NEED to bring the bass guitar right up. Guitars are real nice. Incubus/Tool feel to the whole song. :)
Dont just bring up the bass, dont be scared of leaving more lo end in (you can compress the lo end at the mastering stage). I can hear the room reverb in the drums too much. Snare could do with more hi end. Kick sounds like a sample a little too much.
Dynamics are spot on Finster.:D

Sorry if I am ripping this apart, just typing what I think. Guitars are definetley the best sound of this mix.
