How's the mix here?

I'm primarily concerned with the vocals since my guitar sound is, I think, about as good as I can get it (though I'm certainly open to suggestions). There is a slight bit of compression, and a hint of reverb on the vox but nothing else anywhere.

I'll include the lyrics so that you can follow the bouncing ball:

Kansas

So you say you wanna be away from me
Dye your hair, change your name, hop a bus
and be safe from me

And you say you won't play the game for me
and you say you won't change your name for me
and you say Kansas is the place to be
on those plains now, you could be free

what did you hear in the wind
the soft caress of that old friend
did those storms cloud your eyes
underneath that Kansas sky

So now, you've ran away past me
moved on, grown up, grown out and away from me
Things don't feel the same for me
and the wind calls out your name to me
You're in Kansas where I ought to be
and the wind calls out your name like me

what did you hear in the wind
the soft caress of that old friend
did those storms cloud your eyes
underneath that Kansas sky

Kansas, 10,000 miles away from me
but I feel your arms encircle me
if I had an airplane or a time machine
I'd be in Kansas and you wouldn't run away from me

what did you hear in the wind
the soft caress of that old friend
did those storms cloud your eyes
underneath that Kansas sky

So you say you wanna be away from me

I`m listening with cans right now so my verdict on the sound cant be taken to seriously, but it sounds nicely.
the levels are good.
the vox sound good to me, it would be cool to hear this song with a full band. :)

If there was anything to say for me, it must be that the levels are quite low, maybe you could try to "blow it up" a bit more :)

nice tune\and playing

reminded me of Wish you were of floyd a few times :)

Hey Nak, thanks for reminding me. I usually try to amplify and normalize the tracks before I convert 'em to MP3, forgot to do that here, so yeah, it is probably low.

As far as the full band, don't hold your breath :D Haven't played with a full band since 1992, though I do have a Dobro, a mandolin, and a violin lined up to add some weight to some of my tracks.

Thanks for listening, and I'll take any Pink Floyd comparrison I can get (though that comparrison isn't often made).

I agree with Nakatira about the volume....seems low, and I have mine up quite a bit. Nice tune, and playing. Voice goes well with the guitar. Everything sounds good, just quiet. Very good tune.

Liked the song a lot and it’s a good performance. It's got a good balance I think, maybe needs a little more lower mid oomph from the gtr which sounds a little like an Ovation 12 string here - very high freq oriented. I boosted the volume but overall but the vocal sounds a bit less detailed and more sibilant than some of your other tunes.

Dear God, is it that bad? :D I just changed to Martin silk and steel's which probably accounts for the change in tone from my old brand. I was trying to get a better tone from my Takamine, but I was certainly not shooting for the "Ovation sound".

Thanks for the critique's and for taking the time to listen. Think I'll retrack this one.
