I have been working on this for about a week now and wanted to get some constructive critisism on the mix. I know that my stuff is not the norm here on this site but please give me some ideas on how my recording is coming along. It's the last music link on the page called "Seasons With You" in light pink font. Thnx

Well, I am listening on cheap earbuds, so I don't feel qualified to comment on the mix, but I do like what I am hearing. Pretty song. Good lyrics and melody. The performances (both guitar and vocal) seem pretty much spot-on to me. There was a little harshness in a couple of spots, but that could just be the earbuds. Nice work. Keep it up.

I hear the low end being overdriven, as if too much low end eq was added. I agree the highs are a little harsh. Quality performance though, very nice.

I didn't add any low end but I can take some out. I'll cut my high end a tad too. Maybe some compression would help it sit better together too? How are the vocals? Are they clean enough? Too wet, too dry?

nice picking.
in my speekers its not harsh infakt i thing the vokals need a bit more high end boosting. have you tried a small room on both the guitarr and the vokals as if recorded in one room at the same time. might work. you can never try enough crazy stuff. wonderful song bu the way.

I record vocals and guitar in the same room but it's a little long so I get some wierd things that happen in the recording. I'm working on the situation. The guitar is two seperately recorded tracks then panned about 45% on each side then I added an additional guitar track to add to the dead space between verses. I've never tried anything like that before so it was quite an experience. Took me a while to get it to where it is right now. I guess it will get easier as I go.
The vocal track is a temporary one and I have some background vocals that haven't been recorded yet. I just got impatient and wanted to hear something put together.

Thanks for the compliments. This is one of the first songs I ever wrote. I've been trying to put together my first demo CD for the past year and I think I'm getting closer. It's time to put some old stuff to rest so I can move forward.

Your song is incredible! I wish I was a good enough musician to display something of that quality, but I just don't have the skills yet or the equipment. I have been wanting to try my hand at some slide guitar, just a little scared of it though. The vocalist sounds really familiar to me. It sounds like Karen Whittmore out of Utah.

Oh... trust me im no wizard with the guitarr. retakes retakes retakes. And i certainly dont have your skills. You sound like a genuine "onetake man"

Nope, just good at splicing. Do you have any advice on layering of guitar? I would love to add more to my music but always seem to screw it up. It never sounds right.
