I have a Marshall MG100HDFX head amp for my guitar. If you are familiar with this amp it has an emulated line out for heardphones and recording. I decided to run a line from this to my computer line in for recording purposes yesterday, but got nothing registering on the computer side. The line from the amp is a 1/4" guitar cable, that I have a mono adapter attached to on the computer side that reduces it to proper size. The cable works, and the amp output works, but for some reason I am getting nothing on the computer when I try to record. I also tried it through the mic input with no luck.
Just to try to isolate the problem I recorded my voice with a mic that is on my headset. That worked fine, so I know it is something wrong with my amp/computer set up. Obviously it is not a mute issue either, since it worked with a mic.
Any ideas as to what is wrong?
I notice that the headphones I usually use are stereo, and the cable/adapter I am using are mono. Could this be the problem?
