I posted this question a while ago, but I can't find the response...

Well, how WOULD you rate it?
I have had pretty decent experiences with my pair, and from what I understand the Beaatles used to use it as a snare mic.

Is it good for anything else?

The Abbey Road mic was the predecessor to the D190E, the D19...

I too would like to know how the 2 compare...
And is the D19 worth all the ebay fuss? I mean 350.00 for the Beatles connection is a bit extreme...

The D190's most popular, right now, user is probably Tony Blair. The Brits use it in Parliament.

For all I know the Beatles used the D19 as a drum overhead on their early recordings only, but not on Abbey Road. I think they used a Coles or RCA ribbon later on. From what I've heard the D19 is not really a great mic, it just has that vintage vibe.
