How would you fix this?

I'll just say off the bat that I'm ok with re-tracking to fix this problem. But I like the drum track I did and would love to not have to re-do it.
SO my problem is that I recorded a song that has some dead stops in it. Thinking the stops would sound better with dead silence in them, I added silence where there are stops. But now it sounds un-natural and edited. I cut out the room sound of the drums especially.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this. Add reverb to the last drum hit before the stop so that the reverb rings through the stop a bit???

If you want to hear what I'm talking about, it's HERE
Sorry, I wish I could post just a 5 second clip of the part I'm talking about, but if you forward to about 2:35, there's a stop there. There are a few in the song, but that one's the most obvious. Thanx.

Personally, I wouldn't re-track.....I think it's a simple mix issue. All the sounds are there, and are just a bit disjointed. I don't have an exact answer as to how to fix it, but it's minor man. I think beefing the drums up some, and using a smal amount of compression, or verb over the entire mix, might make it gel together better. A SMALL amount, mind you. :D

He died so we can all have eternal life, that's pretty special.

Loosen up there, Poindexter, it's a joke.

Thanx Dog, I posted this before I heard your great re-mastering of it. I'm still curious to see how others would try to solve it if they had to.

Find a part of the drum track that has room noise, copy it, crossfade it in, and cover your tracks with a touch of reverb.

Oh man, that's genius. Dogman did do a re-master (or re-something...don't want to mis-use the "M" word :) ) and added a bit of room verb to the mix which helped (I haven't put it on my page yet), but copying room noise is definitely something I'll try.

(got to find some room noise...got to find some room noise...got to fi...)
