how would this work for a temporary control room enclosure. The room doesn't have to be sound proof just have a pretty noticable difference in volume.

8 foot high plywood walls, all hinged together, with the inside lined with foam or fiber glass.

the ceiling is also about 8 feet.

Difference in volume? Are you talking about soundproofing the area inside these walls, or conditioning it for mixing purposes?

If you're soundproofing, forget the foam.

how would this work?

you'd end up with a box that rings at all the modes associated with 8 feet with no top end and lots of lowend standing waves. ;);)

then my next question is whats the best (and cheapest) way to make a portable wall that will reduce noise on one side.
