I have a fostex fd-4,before I got my computer I was recording to
zip disks connected to the fd-4.I now have a computer with a Hercules game theater X sound card.the sound card has the same digital input as the mixer. The question.......can I record the 4 channels of audio into cakewlak pro audio 9.

to clear things up a bit ,what I'm looking to do is in real time record the 4 seperat tracks in the fd-4 to 4 seperate tracks in cakewalk pro audio.like I said before I have a 2 in sound card,I was wondering by using the digital in can I record more tracks at a time ?

ONE DOWN 100 TO GO !

Thanx Keiphus,I now know that I need to get a "REAL" sound card!

Certain soundcards that are designed to work with ADAT technology can be interfaced with certain Digital mixers. to transfer 8 channels seperately. but without one of these the best you can ask for is 2 tracks at a time.

which if you can sync up with a beat at the front of the recording on all tracks you can transfer them two at a time to cakewalk.
