Hi

I am wondering what the cheapest option would be to play back stereo sound syncd with a metronome. I want to play backing tracks with a band but i need to have just the metronome go into a set of headphones for the drummer, while sending the stereo track through the PA.
I will be recording the stereo track on my computer but i only have a soundblaster live soundcard so i cant use calkwalks metronome as it will end up on the stereo track. So i guess i need something that can send midi signals??
Is there special equipment for this?

Sorry if this sounds a bit cryptic
any help would be appreciated
thanxs

If you have an SB live you can open the creative mixer and set it to record "line in" this way the only thing that will record will be the signal coming into your line input, and not the click form cakewalk.
hope this helps

sorry if i didn't make that question too clear. but basically when i play live with a band i want to play to a backing track, so i need to send the backing track through the PA and have a click track that goes straight to the drummer. So the click track cannot be heard by anyone but him. I am using calkwalk to record the backing track... wat i need to know is there say a 2 track digtal recorder on the market that produces a click track?
thanx

A lot of people run PA's in mono, you could simply burn a CD with a click on one channel and mono backing tracks on the other. If you are doing it in Cakewalk you don't have to stick to just a click either, you could have verbal cues for the drummer and anything else you want to put, maybe subliminal messages... 'I will play in time, I will buy Drinks for the rest of the band....'

haha.
i think you might be on to something there...
umm yeah i think i will give that a go, cheers for the help ay
