i need to know how to sync up an acoustic guitar to a sequencer that has the rest of the needed beat on it (drums, bassline, etc.), obviously the acoustic guitar isnt perfect timing compared to the sequencer. do i record the guitar first then make the beat, or have a scratch recording of the guitar then sync it with the beat???? please help!!!

Can't you listen to the beat, and play along with it, recording what you play? That seems easiest.

i guess so, but i think my friend will make the guitar track first, then i will make a beat to go with it. i just thought it was more difficult than that.

Well if he plays to a metronome or better yet a click from your sequencer you should be able to sync up,provided you have a count in.

Ideally he records along with a click track into a sequencer that has audio capabilities, such as Sonar,Cubase, etc. Then iot would be a breeze.

If he's just going to keep his own time then there will be no possibility of syncing, just playing along.

that's kind of what i thougt, thanks for the affirmation.
