Hi,
I am using Sonar 2.0, Gina 24 and some wav files recording/editing software (e.g. Magix studio and cool Edit)
Sonar : MIDI source is from Korg Triton and its L/R output plug into Gina 24's input. I am using Track
1-10 for MIDI sequencing. I usually leave 2 blank measures for each track.
Sonar : I used Track 11-13 for audio sequencing. They are all drum loops.
Here is what I want to accomplish:
I want to convert the MIDI tracks to wav format so that I can do some editing in either Magix studio or Cool edit.
For Track 11-13 (audio files), I don't have any problem as I can "export" them to a single wav file. So I would like
to see (if my conecpt is right) Track 1 of Magix Studio is equal to Track 1-10 of Sonar and Track 2 of Magix Studio is sequal
to Track 11-13 of Sonar.
Since Magix or cool edit has recording function and here is what I did over the weekend :
1) Fire up Both Sonar and Magix
2) Press space bar to play the sequence from Sonar. Remember that I have 2 blank measures in Sonar ?
3) So I have enough time to swith to Magix and press the "Rec" button. Then track 1 of magix = track 1-10 of sonar (midi->wav)
I don't know if the above is a good approach or not. Since magix will record those 2 blank measures from Sonar.
Is there any way to "sync" sonar with magix (or other recording software ?). You may say don't use 2 blank measures.
But if I don't do this.... I don't have time to switch to magix for recording...
Any idea?
Regards!
