Hi:
First, let me say that I feel incredibly stupid asking this question. But, since I've only been using dynamic mics lately and I haven't needed to set up a pop filter in a long while. But, now I do need to set one up to record vocals with one of my condenser microphones. Since, my mind is a blank and You Tube, Google and all the books that I have were no use, can someone give me some instructions on how to set up a pop filter. I would sincerely appreciate it. The pop filter that I have is a Nady MPF-6. (I'm scared I may break it, if I don't get some instruction on how to place it on my mic stand properly.)
Thank you very much .[THIS IS A SERIOUS POST, NOT A JOKE.
P.S. I'm told that I possess intelligence in a lot of other areas, but I could be wrong.

It simply clamps on to the mic stand, there's nothing to break really. Maybe you don't have the whole piece, here's a pic. Just clamp it on and place it between you and the mic.

Why is it that the tape machines are in focus and the stand isn't?

:D

You know, it's too obvious. You mustn't focus on the tape machine, you need to focus on the stand so noone will accuse you of showing off the decks. Do it like this ;)

At least you didn't fire them up... :laughings:

Thanks

Hi Guys:
Thanks for answering my question. I feel a little better now knowing that my instincts were right. Hopefully, there's a way that I can hide this thread now that the matter has been settled.

Now, that wouldn't make any sense in a forum because other people wouldn't be able to benefit from your answered question then. There may be others who need to know how to set up a pop filter and hopefully use the search function ;)

Cheers

To be honest, I wasn't trying to show off the decks I'm just a very bad photographer. But thanks for the credit. This deserves a few points.

Hehe... Well, I'll be trying to sneak a deck in from time to time... :)

I for one, am glad to see this thread. I found that if I put the pop filter too close to the mic, I still got pops. Looks like a little distance is a good thing. My first post BTW.
