How to remake A song for practice

can you transcribe music? can you read and write music? what is your knowledge of theory?

you are using the wrong mic and sitting too close to the wall, try going direct........

I think the gain is too hot on the vocal pre-amp. It sounds like he's clipping. The top end is probably lacking clarity too.

You're using the wrong equipment. Try investing thousands of dollars into each piece of gear...surely that will help!
