Hi there,

I have a portastudio 424 mkIII and would like to be able to bounce tracks in stereo but i can't find a logical way to do it.: confused:

The problem is that i need a track to record the metronome and that voids all possibilities to do it. : eek:
isn't there a way to record on a 4 track without having to record the metronome on one of the tracks?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Simply put - don't record the metronome.

Listen to the metronome while recording the first track, then use the playback of the first track as your guide to record the second track, and so on.

Thanks for the answer, i'm kind of dissapointed about just being able to use that system though, i'd like to be able to trigger a metronome to sync with the playback for easy and accurate recording, i can use a track as a guide but still like to have the metronome too. how would they do in the past when computers weren't involved in recording studios?

By laying down the drum track first, using the metronome as a timekeeper.

Then for all other instruments including vocals, use the drum track as the time keper.
