How to record DRUM MACHINE vst's?

This one should be easy, but I didn't realize it by myself. I am using some drum machine or sample system VST, and would like to record it (Cubase 5), but I don't know how to do it. Do I have to make drum-map or something? I don't have any experience with things like this, so would be really great if someone could help me with this...

Usually you open your VST instruments and choose the one you want, cubase will then ask if you wanna create a midi track for it, agree. Then it depends what VST you're using, if its something like ezdrummer you just find the beat or beat pattern you want and drag it into cubase.

The good thing is it will automatically match the tempo. :)
 
So I add an instrument track, then I choose the instrument (Black Magic Lite)... but Cubase is not asking to create midi track for it. Same with all samplers or drum machine vst's.
