Hi,

I want to know how you guys patch your effects in the auxiliary buses. Right now I have a mix with 10 tracks and 4 auxiliaries. (I can't beleive that a p4 2.6Ghz 800FSB with 512 Megs is not strong enough, I got audio dropout). I noticed that I have reverb on 3 of those auxiliaries, I could use only one reverb for the mix, but how do I know what is patched first (normally I want reverb to be effective AFTER compression... right?)

Regards,

Thierry

P.S. I record at 96Khz, 24 bits

The aux-busses are applyed after the track Inserts, so you're okay.

you can avoid some of your dropouts by increasing your latency. I do this when mixing/listening back to what I have recorded so that I can load up on effects. Unless you are trying to do some automation at the time, this works great.

This could be part of the problem. You are processing more than twice as much data than you would be at 44.1 and 24 bits.

What is the end destination for the material. CD? Most conventional wisdom would suggest that 96K is overkill if you're ultimately going to CD.

Let the fireworks begin! :D
